You want to appear adventurous yet you think it’s going to cost you too much. How does one achieve dramatic interior design results without breaking the bank? You want to make your friends gasp and be impressed by your daring and your innovative ideas and your impressive and soulful profile. Well, the best way to effect swooning in those around you while still leaving you enough to buy several examples of the better single malts is to invest in some self-adhesive vinyl wall stickers.

Still the preserve of the better informed interior designer and those lucky few that happen to stumble across this secretive world, wall stickers offer huge interior design benefits for a very modest outlay. It still surprises me to find that relatively few people know about wall stickers, they have been available for a good many years now and are hugely popular in France. An enormous number of designs are available online, but try and find them in the high street and you’re likely to be disappointed.

Retailers tend to be conservative; they are reluctant to take the plunge and stock something innovative if no one else will. Somebody has to be the first! Look at motorised skate boards and throwing stars. Other excuses offered by timid shopkeepers include the shoplifting risk, the lack of an easy display method, low profit per square foot, too cheap, too dear, doesn’t fit in with existing range, please get out of my shop. It’s no wonder there are still homes out there papered in woodchip. Wall stickers remain a marginal product known only to the elect.

The majority are missing out. No other interior design solution can compare to wall stickers; they are easy to apply (I’ve put them up drunk), last forever (so far), inexpensive in relation to the impact they provide and compared to wallpaper don’t require the removal of furniture and carpets when installing. If you’ve had enough of that silhouetted forest in your sitting room you can just peel it off, it will leave the paint behind and now you’re ready for that flock of birds and the stags head.

Having spoken to many people who’ve bought and applied wall stickers in their homes, or for clients in a wide range of commercial settings the response is always the same. They look fantastic, they went up in no time and everyone who sees them is suitably impressed.

You could be the next person doing the impressing.

http://www.zazous.co.uk/

Zazous are online retailers of wall stickers, wallpaper, lighting, contemporary vinyl flooring, tableware, textiles and accessories for the modern home. Fashion-forward, highly individual designs that create striking interiors.

“You never loved me,” he said and I closed the front door. That last glimpse of him, the dull winter light catching his profile made him seem almost desirable again, his downcast eyes lending him a pitiable nobility that I knew was undeserved. I had loved him alright, never before had I truly loved ‘with all my heart’ and for a time I really believed he loved me, but no longer. All he loved now were self-adhesive vinyl wall stickers.

How romantic it seemed, how exciting even when we first became lovers, how he laughed with delight at my ventriloquist act and how damned erotic I found his barnstorming squirrels – the ease with which he controlled the rodents and helicopters. “Gottle of geer,” he’d say with a wink as a brace of furry tailed daredevils crashed triumphantly through yet another shed and my cheeks would flush red and hot. It was perfect. Too perfect as it turned out.

My suspicions were first aroused when leaving our hotel after the annual ‘You Crazy Guys’ festival in Toledo. He had been transfixed by an array of wall stickers in the lobby of our hotel – a simple composition of dark and light birch tree silhouettes creating an impression of depth that immediately caught and held the eye. I could see how happy it made him and I suggested we get something similar for my flat. He nodded vaguely and looking back now I see it was at that moment I lost him. It was left to me to persuade Barry and Leo into their transit cages.

On our return things rapidly started to come apart, I threw myself into my work and a new doll – an Afrikaans Police Inspector that although likely to be not very broad in its appeal, was certainly a challenge and ultimately very rewarding. My lover on the other hand let his act slide – potential bookings weren’t followed up, two pre-arranged performances were missed completely and when Leo caught a cold it was me who applied the Vicks and wound his muffler. More and more time was spent trawling the internet for new stickers and only when the postman rang would he become animated, leaping up from behind the computer and rushing to the front door to greet the fellow like a long -ost friend.

Eventually I asked him to leave. He at least had the decency to look ashamed. I asked him “Why? Why are you so in love with those damned stickers?” He drew himself up to his full five foot six and looked me in the eye. “Self-adhesive vinyl wall stickers are easy to apply, easy to remove, don’t damage existing wall surfaces, come in a huge range of colours and styles…” Foam started to fleck his lips “…offer incredible value of money compared to other interior design solutions such as wallpaper, require no special skill or preparation before application and are fully UV resistant for five whole years!”

What a cruel untameable thing is the human heart.

http://www.zazous.co.uk/
Zazous are online retailers of wall stickers, wallpaper, lighting, contemporary vinyl flooring, tableware, textiles and accessories for the modern home.

In a barefaced attempt to get wall stickers as well-known to the discerning consumer as other more traditional interior decoration methods, I thought it might be useful to do a direct comparison with perhaps their closest rival: wallpaper. In a step by step guide I hope to demonstrate that the former trounces the latter in every category I decide to name. This comparison will be strictly fair and non-partial. Honestly.

1. Choice. Considering the fact that wallpaper has been around in its current form since the eighteenth century there are a surprisingly dismal range of options available to the forward-looking interior designer. Watery patterns and pale floral motifs abound; if you are Miss Havisham then fire away, this is for you. If, on the other hand, you sometimes open the curtains and let light and life flood into your home then the infinite array of self-adhesive vinyl wall sticker designs available just a keystroke away on your friendly internet will be more in your line. Anything you can think of is available in practically any colour and any size.

2. Application. Simple really, wallpaper is fantastically difficult to put up and wall stickers aren’t. Wallpaper requires skill, nerve, the removal from the room of anything likely to be affected by paste flying around, protective clothing, tools and a helper. Wall stickers need a comfortable pullover and a gin and tonic and perhaps a little light opera on the stereo which you haven’t had to cover or remove for its protection.

3. Removal. OK, you’ve had the paper up for a while now and you’d like a change, well, you’ll need to set aside a fortnight to strip it, remove the stubborn bits, fill the holes where you got cross and gouged the wall with your scraper while swearing at the top of your voice, smooth down and start the torture again. Wall stickers, on the other hand, peel away simply leaving no residue and no damage, leaving you calm and unruffled as you sip your drink and consider your next design.

4. Cost. To paint a wall and then adorn it with a beautiful contrasting sticker group of trees will be about thirty quid for the paint and a hundred for the stickers. To paper a wall 3.5m long by 2.2m high will cost anything from forty pounds to four hundred for the paper, a tenner for the paste, tenner for brushes, twenty quid easily for pasting table… It soon mounts up. And what’s your time worth? The aggravation of the preparation? The stress? And what about having to buy the paper again when you’ve mucked it up? If you add it up my way then wall stickers win yet again.

These are the main considerations when choosing between the two options. If you can afford to get the men in and don’t mind the disruption and aren’t likely to change your scheme for twenty years then maybe wallpaper is for you. If you are normal then I strongly recommend a combination of emulsion paint and self-adhesive vinyl wall stickers. Thank you.

http://www.zazous.co.uk/
Zazous are online retailers of wall stickers, wallpaper, lighting, contemporary vinyl flooring, tableware, textiles and accessories for the modern home.

“I have journeyed across many dimensions to see this,” said the form in front of me. It was hard to establish exactly what it was I was looking at as it seemed to blink in and out of existence and its boundaries were hard to discern. One thing was certain, however; this pan-dimensional life form was very pleased to see my self-adhesive vinyl wall sticker.

The inter-galactic traveller flopped down onto the sofa and explained himself. It was rather a confusing tale felt though the skin as much as heard by the ear, a collection of images and emotions painting a kind of thought picture. It transpires that where this fellow originates the race of beings to which he belongs has transcended the physical realm and embarked upon an existence of pure thought. While this has its benefits, cheap accommodation, low meat bills, etc., my new friend explained that many of his kind had grown nostalgic for a time when existence was experienced using more traditional methods like sight and sound.

A direct consequence of this yearning for more animal pleasures combined with the ability to flit between astral planes had led to nomadic voyagers like the chap on my sofa combing the multi-dimensional universe in search of various kinds of beauty to satisfy aspects of their appetites awakened after millennia of arid theoretical being.

Many voyagers plunged into the heart of stars to immerse themselves in the fire of creation and so at once consume and be consumed on a stellar scale while others sought the rarest and most delicate blooms on the farthest flung shores. Some drank deep of the most exquisite elixirs and danced the mad dance of the truly intoxicated, and some contented themselves with DVD boxed sets of ‘Friends’.

My alien guest, however, had chosen this, my living room wall, as his sensual nirvana and I think he was pretty much bang on. I had once had a conventional framed print, a Monet, but had wearied of my sitting room resembling a waiting room and it had reached the point where my teeth would hurt when I looked at it. So closely does one associate French impressionism with dentistry.

In my search for a decorative alternative I had happened upon the wonderful world of self-adhesive vinyl wall stickers, cunningly wrought silhouettes applied directly to the wall surface at a very reasonable price considering the dramatic transformation they can make to a space. I was, I think, justifiably proud of my collection of tree wall stickers creating a very bosky atmosphere in my sitting room. My inter-stellar guest clearly agreed.

“They’re very good,” he said.

“Yes,” I replied.

http://www.zazous.co.uk/
Zazous are online retailers of wall stickers, wallpaper, lighting, contemporary vinyl flooring, tableware, textiles and accessories for the modern home.

The traditional French home accessories denote a diverse range of pottery products and items that primarily focus on ease of use and functioning while maintaining artistic presence. French pottery is a traditional crafting technique that is centuries old. Even, today the technique is well preserved and maintained by many families as business in the southeastern part of France. Since French pottery is age old, it created lots of products and items. In this article, we will look into the wide range of French home accessories to know which items originally offer the French ethnicity.

Primarily the French home accessories include following

- Kitchen Accessories

- Table Linen

- Glassware and Pottery

- Living Room

French Table Linen: French Table linen holds a strong share of the items under French home accessories category. Most of these items come from Provence in France. These products are offered by family run businesses. They do not come from heavily industrialized suppliers but small families who maintain their crafting secrecy. All the items under French table linen are hand picked. Therefore, when you opt for such linens you are sure to get the great quality without compromise. The sole designing aspect of these linens by their maker makes them superior to other table linens. Under the French table linen, you can buy Provencal breadbaskets, Provencal tablecloths and placemats.

Glassware and Pottery: The true essence of French glassware and pottery is in their use of color and production technique. In most cases, these are handcrafted items. Whether it is an earthenware, stoneware or porcelain, all the glassware and pottery items are made by hand. No machine is used in making them in bulk. A potter will devote his time, energy and passion to create one piece of such items. In addition, he will do the same for each individual craft pieces. Another fact about these items is they will follow a design pattern and coordinated colors. You will rarely find contrast colors. One can get cookware, tea & coffee set, tableware, glassware and storage under this category of products.

Living Room: Decorative accessories like table lamps, photo frames, mirrors, chandeliers, flower vases, candleholders etc fall into this category. Well, these are not made from clay but these are hand crafted. The artisan uses different metals to give the items desired shapes and then paint them. Along with metal, the artisan can use pebbles, shells etc to create these products. However, these items fall in the Living room range but they can complement any requirement for other rooms in a home like bedrooms, dining rooms etc. The French home decorative accessories are great items to collect.

Kitchen Accessories: Well, this part is bit interesting. The French home accessories are well known as beautiful kitchen accessories. However, the people who make these accessories do not really believe in it. For them, cooking and eating is the concentration of their works. They ideally do not give much attention to the look. Yes, that is a mismatch. Nevertheless, it is the truth. Therefore, in French kitchen accessories you can get comfort and ease of use of items along with beautiful look. The kitchen accessories from France are now divided into two dominant criteria like modern style and old style. Both of them offer you great possession.

However, we have discussed the major categories of the items that fall under the French home accessories categories; we have still not covered all the items. Since each piece is unique in terms of design, look, color and beauty, it is complex to put all of them under single title. Each of them requires much attention in the detail and eye for beauty. If you care a lot about the attention to detail and pose an eye for beauty, then buying French home accessories will make you proud.

Boutique Provencale offer a huge range of Kitchen Accessories including French Dinnerware which will give any home that French country feel.

The acolyte shivered as a gust sent snow up his robe but the Master looked as warm as he might in the departure lounge of any Mediterranean airport. The acolyte prostrated himself at the Masters feet and the Master laid a kindly hand on his head. “Did you get me those wall stickers?” he said.

The acolyte reached into his sack and pulled out a cardboard tube, the Master took the tube nodded and rose to his feet turning from the acolyte and disappearing into the grotto. The acolyte pulled his robe tightly around him and tried to curl into a small hollow of rock as the icy wind tore around the summit.

Three times had the acolyte journeyed forth and three times had he returned with the requested item. The first time it was a small amount of bark from a rare tree that only grew in the emperors garden and for that the acolyte had to use cunning and guile to befriend a serving girl and persuade her to let him in at night to scrape feverishly at the tree while mere feet away imperial guards lounged on their spears. It took weeks to return to the master with the bark and the acolyte was dismayed when the master tossed the small bag into a great pile of other small bags of bark with scarcely a backwards glance.

The second item the Master sent him to find was a special potion made in a far flung land from animal feed by men with fiery hair and rough skirts. For many years did the acolyte journey – across rough seas and through magical lands populated by the terrifying ‘French’ people till at last he had the rare drink in his possession and the rough skirted men had all his money. The master was well pleased this time and after drinking deep from the flask that contained the potion laughed and sang and cried and got a little bit aggressive before falling into a deep sleep. The acolyte sheltered in his accustomed spot to await his next task.

Could it be that now, having brought the wall sticker, the tasks would cease? Might the acolyte now be allowed to join the Master in his eyrie? The Master came out of the grotto and beckoned to the acolyte to follow him. Inside the grotto the master led the acolyte to the wall where the wall sticker had been applied and gestured to it “You see? You see how easily I put that up? It’s remarkable isn’t it? For the money there’s no better way of decorating a wall, it will last for years and if I change my mind I can just pull it off and it won’t hurt the wall!” The acolyte nodded reverently – it was easy to see how dramatic a transformation this simple self-adhesive vinyl wall sticker had made to the Masters home.

“Now then” said the Master as he pointed to the leather sofa in the IKEA catalogue “You’ll probably need some help with this one.”

http://www.zazous.co.uk/
Zazous are online retailers of wall stickers, wallpaper, lighting, contemporary vinyl flooring, tableware, textiles and accessories for the modern home.

If you think that buying cheap bedding is a good way to keep household costs down, you may be in for a surprise. Cheap bed linens will not only wear out faster, they also are not as comfortable and therefore can cost you in lost sleep!

Although you may think they were invented for Penneys yearly sale, they have been around for ages. In the beginning they were rough linens that only came in off white, but today they have advanced to butter soft quality in a variety colors and patterns. You can buy Egyptian cotton linens, Italian linen, polyester knit satins, bridal quality satin, polyester woven knits, silk linen etc. Bedding can be mixed and matched or purchased in designer bedroom sets to suit most anyone’s decor.

Good Egyptian cotton bedding has been popular for decades, but products from Asia are particularly popular today. They come in Khadi or handloom and have bright colors, which can add to an ethnic style bedroom. You can buy various prints such as batiks, tie-dye prints, and block prints. Embroidery linens are also very popular and in particular, antique embroidered linens and those with crochet edging are highly sought after.

Choosing good bedding can be a daunting task. There are so many different types to choose from it can seem impossible for anyone who does not know about bedding. The quality of the fabric is one important thing to think about when choosing the right one for your home. If you have ever slept in a bed made up with high thread count cotton sheets, you will know how wonderful it is and the cost of this quality bedding is well worth the price. Plus high quality sheets will last longer (decades, if you can believe that) so you will save money in the long run.

Also, you want to select bed linen according to the decor of your bedroom, matching combination of print, color, and material. When selecting bed linen consider durability and ease of cleaning. For children’s bedding, pick out bright colors and prints. Normally, you should buy geometric prints, floral prints or themed prints in soft fabrics.

Luxury bed linens are rich and luxurious with detailed ornamentation. These lend a royal look to any bedroom. Satin and silk fabrics are quite popular. Satins are available in many colors. This fabric is easy to care for and machine washable. Silk fabric is well known for its elegance, superior comfort and easy of care.

Embroidered and applique bedding are also popular and go great in a vintage look, romantic or shabby chic style bedroom.

Fashion bedding includes ornate silk and cotton linens which are available in embroidered design, traditional designs, floral designs as well as many prints. These bed linens can enhance your bedroom decor. Luxurious comforters, duvets, and decorative pillows can also be added to compliment the bedding and add interest to the room.

If you are looking for bedding that can be used every day and is comfortable, then your best bet is cotton bed linens. These bed linens are made up from natural fabric and can be quite luxurious. Remember when buying bedding, the higher the thread count, the better quality and more comfort you will get. Yes, you will pay more, but it will be money well spent.

http://www.thecottoncollection.co/ is an online seller or quality bed linen and towels

Everyone wants a home with spectacular style. However, what can make a home that is not a mansion stand out? Believe it or not, great taste and stellar style are still within reach. One elegant home idea is an indoor wall fountain. A fountain brings the natural beauty of the outdoors into your home, and creates an awesome feature for guests to enjoy. It adds that extra something that will nudge a home’s style up to the next level.

Nothing is as serene as flowing water, so the indoor wall fountain is an elegant choice for both tranquility and high style. They come in many materials, from copper and other metals to mirrors, resins, and slate. Unique design and a flowing work of art aren’t all the fountain provides. Moving water is believed to promote prosperity in feng shui, and everyone wants to attract good fortune.

Indoor wall fountains come in many different styles. There’s everything from traditional antique limestone to large, rectangular fountains that look like modern art. Prices range from a few hundred dollars up into the thousands, depending on how intricate the design is and the overall size of the fountain. No matter what the budget, there are beautiful indoor fountains to be found.

For a one of a kind piece, slate is the way to go. Each slab of slate is individual, so no two fountains are the same. These slate fountains are usually capped in stainless steel or copper to give them a modernized look. The mixture of natural slate and shiny metal gives a stylish contrasting effect to any decor.

In addition to beauty, fountains provide the peaceful sound of trickling water to the home. They can be used in virtually any room, from a living-room to a bedroom. Because of the many different sizes available, indoor fountains can hang in even small rooms such as a bathroom or one of the smaller guest bedrooms. They are often placed in gardens as well. Anywhere a bit of extravagance is desired, a fountain can usually be placed.

A wall fountain can be a main feature in any room. They add sophistication and class to virtually any space. In addition to the gentle movement of the water, the trickling of the fountain can serve to cover unwanted background noises in the home such as traffic or even the ice-cube maker. Many wall fountains have synthetic lighting incorporated into their design to bring additional focus to them.

Guests to the home will not only enjoy the beauty of the fountain as art, it will also make them feel relaxed and at ease. The homeowner has many options as to what kind of fountain they would enjoy in their home. In addition to wall units, there are also standing floor fountains and table top designs available. The individual style of the owner can easily be expressed by the choice of fountain they choose for their room.

For people who want extravagant pieces in their home, a fountain can be an ideal choice. Peace and beauty can be found at virtually any budget, and fountains can make any home a standout.

For more information on an indoor wall fountain, garden fountains, sphere water features or any of the other topics raised in the article, visit UK Water Features, who are experienced in the relevant field.

You are considering a change to your decoration scheme and are in a quandary. You’d like to be a bit bold and go for a wallpaper mural but are concerned about the cost. Surely, something on this scale, made to order and utilising extensive and complicated printing methods is going to cost the earth? Well, you’d be surprised. Thanks to advances in technology the transferring of images to a printing machine and the printing itself can be achieved at a price little different to the everyday repeating pattern wallpaper.

It’s true, gone are the days when complicated set-up processes put the prices into realms where only commercial customers could afford them. Digital printing techniques can now turn any image of any size into a high-resolution wall sized image. Typically, these machines will put 1200-1400 dots per square inch of colour onto the paper and this means that to see those individual dots you’ll have to put your nose right on the paper, go cross-eyed and get a whack on the back of your head from your wife/mother.

And one need not be restricted to an off-the-shelf design, although many are available and many look fantastic. You can send along a picture of a treasured family moment and for a surprisingly modest outlay you’ll get back that image spread over several rolls of good quality wallpaper ready to be hung behind the sofa. It’ll cost a little more than basic paper but considerably less than the more luxurious kind and provide you with a unique environment. Another thing to perhaps consider is the fact that you won’t need to spring for a whole bunch of pictures – the whole wall is one.

Surely it’s not that easy? Well, yes it is. All one needs to do is find an online operation, pick an image from an existing range or send in your own, provide them with the dimensions of your intended wall and they’ll resize the picture to fit your wall. They will also generally go a little bit beyond the dimensions provided to give you a little margin for hanging error.

So far from being an extravagant option in the interior design stakes, the wallpaper mural can be a cost-effective way of making a dramatic impression. A quick glance at what’s available online produces the startling information that a high quality image measuring three and a half metres by two and a half (12′ x 9′) can be had for as little as fifty pounds. How does that compare to regular wallpaper? Pretty well I’d say! When you’ve had enough of looking at that treasured family moment, it’s time to bring out the cheapest interior solution of all – no, not arson. Paint!

http://www.zazous.co.uk/
Zazous are online retailers of wall stickers, wallpaper, lighting, contemporary vinyl flooring, tableware, textiles and accessories for the modern home.
